Bepanthen ointment contains the active ingredient dexpanthenol, mixed with the ointment base with a high fat content. The active ingredient dexpanthenol is transformed in cells. The skin needs the vitamin pantothenic acid, which helps the skin grow and regenerate from the inside out.

With its high fat content, Bepanthen ointment forms a thin oil (fatty) layer on the outer surface of the skin, protecting it and preventing it from losing moisture.
